Pocatello Marathon
1st Day of School
MapMyRun
As you know from last weeks running post I have been running just a little bit. I found a great new website (And I thought I had seen them all). http://www.mapmyrun.com It's awesome! It uses Google Map and you can add your run/bike/walk route and then add mile markers, elevation changes, and it gives you options to show bathrooms/water break spots. Pretty cool tool for those of you that may want to take a run or ride your bike to work or plan a hike.
Enjoy!

Running is all mental....
I'm either crazy or insane!
Two weeks from today I will be running the Pocatello 1/2 Marathon. I have been following an abbreviated 5 week training schedule that has me running 25+ miles a week. 3-4 miles on most days and longer runs (6-8 miles) on Wednesdays and last Saturday was 10 miles and today was 12 miles. Jane and the kids surprised me (and made the run totally worth all the effort) by waking up and looking for me to finish. They also held out a finish line tape and cheered me on to the finish. Next Saturday is a breeze with a nice 8-9 mile run and then it's just a recovery week getting ready for the race.
Sorry, I've got to run......
We have run the Pocatello 5K on labor day for the past couple of years. It's a great race and a fun way to spend one of the last weekends of the summer. Well for the last few months I have really been thinking of running a little further this year.
The last two weeks I have started training harder, running 16-20 miles a week.
So today I registered us to race.
Jane will do the 5K which starts at 9:30.
Scott will do the 1/2 Marathon which starts at 8:30.
If all goes well, Jane will finish around 10:00 and Scott will be behind her and finish at about 10:30.
It should be great. Other than the fact that running for 2 hours is a long stinking time.
Ahhh but think of all the yummy ice cream I could eat afterwords.
Mercantile Update
Usually durring the day the kids are in and out every 10 minutes. Once the loft and stairs were complete we couldnt get them to come out of the playhouse. They love it.

Of course you can see by the following pictures the kids had a ball at Grandma & Grandpa's house! Scott totally missed out and didn't even enjoy the quiet house due to church stuff every night!
Grandpa took the kids on the motorcycles.....even though Miles looks ticked off he had a great time!
