West Fest 5k

0

Our family usually participates in the West Fest 5k ever year. It's a pretty fun- flat race and the price is reasonable.
Miles and Lilly both ran it this year with Jane.

RAGNAR 2011

0

This year Jane joined the RAGNAR craze.

It's a 30 hour road trip from Logan to Park City in a van of stinky, sweaty running freaks.
It was a fun experience to run together. We are grateful that the Moellers watched our kids for us so we could do it. It was also our 14 year anniversary. What a way to celebrate- huh?

SoJo Half Marathon

We ran South Jordan Half Marathon in September. This is the first year for the So. Jordan race. It had a few glitches (not well organized)..... but it was fun! It was the first race that we have really trained for and run together. It was a nice down hill 13 miles. The race started in Copperton (cute little town at the base of the copper pit) and runs East towards the Jordan River Temple.

G & G Miles came down and took our kids to the finish. It was fun to see them along the road and then at the finish. The girls ran the last 100 yards with Jane which was neat!~

Jane is running

Jane has been thinking she wanted to run a little longer race (half marathon, 13.1 miles).
She has never (even in a training run) run more than 3 miles.

So off she went. Her first long training run was 6 Miles. Then she ran 7. Then she was going to do 8 miles but missed a turn on the route and ended up running 9!!

So it looks like Scott and Jane will both be running the South Jordan Half Marathon at the end of September. It should be alot of fun!!
Way to go Jane!!!

West Valley Classic 5K

1

Miles has been running a bit with Jane to get ready for the Pocatello 5K this fall. We all decided we would run the West Valley 5K this year also to give him the race experience. It was a great time and the weather was perfect. Scott ran with Miles most of the way and Jane was chasing Lisa Harmon (Jane and Lisa both finished at about 28 Minutes). It was a lot of fun and Miles did so great! He only asked Scott to walk twice and still finished the race at 31:00.

Scott left Miles with about a half mile to go so he could go take pictures of Miles crossing the finish line.

Jane and the girls all did there hair in curlers.... how fun!!!! I even made Jane go outside with the curlers in her hair and we had two visitors from the ward .... she was so embarrased!!! This could have won the Before and after contest that Suzanne had.....

Jane said that curler manufacturers should be forced to label all curler packages.... "Use for girls 12 and under".

The last 3 peaches

1

What a sad day. I mowed the lawn yesterday and as I went by the Peach tree I could smell the ripe peaches..... YUM!

Well there were only a dozen or so left on the tree. Today at lunch Jane and I picked the last of them. Harvest just doesnt last long enough!!

LAST SWIM

0

It has been such a fun year swimming at Grandpas!!! We can't believe it's time to close it up for the winter. We went for one more last swim. It's so nice... clean, clear water with no crowds to deal with. Miles and Lilly are really great swimmers now. Miles was showing off his "backstroke" to us tonight.

So if you look close you can see a callus on my second toe. I can only imagine it's from running. Well as we were all looking at it.... Briggs decided he wanted to look at his too...

What a cute kid.

Thanks Grandpa!!!! We can't wait for JUNE!!!!

Pocatello Marathon

2

Today was the big race! Jane ran the 5K and took 1st in her age group! Way to go Jane!!!!! She finished the race in 27 minutes. Scott ran the 1/2 marathon and finished with a time of 1:55 and had a great time coming in 7th in his age group. Pocatello does a great job at putting on a race. After the race there is water, fruit, sports drinks, chocolate milk, ice cream, bread and a potato bar!!! All free for the runners. They also had little games and things for the kids to do like face painting and clowns with balloons. We stayed to see the award ceremony and see Jane get her trophy!!! We are grateful for Grandma & Grandpa Miles and having them take up their time durring this holiday weekend to watch us and our kids. THANKS!!! We also miss our running partners who couldn't make it becuase they are training in Ethiopia!!!!! Love ya M & M!

Birthday Girl

2

Jane turned 30 today!!!
I tired to make it a nice day. It was tough when I am in meetings all day long but I snuck home a few times to feed the kids lunch, clean the house and make dinner. We also made a fun dessert for her birthday. Jane loves Almond Joy candy bars. We made her an Almond Joy Pie. We made the recipe up but it is fabulous!!!

Hope you had a great day!!! I love you!

Sorry, I've got to run......

1

We have run the Pocatello 5K on labor day for the past couple of years. It's a great race and a fun way to spend one of the last weekends of the summer. Well for the last few months I have really been thinking of running a little further this year.
The last two weeks I have started training harder, running 16-20 miles a week.
So today I registered us to race.
Jane will do the 5K which starts at 9:30.
Scott will do the 1/2 Marathon which starts at 8:30.

If all goes well, Jane will finish around 10:00 and Scott will be behind her and finish at about 10:30.
It should be great. Other than the fact that running for 2 hours is a long stinking time.
Ahhh but think of all the yummy ice cream I could eat afterwords.

Idaho Raspberries

0

Jane and the kids went to Idaho for a few days this week. The purpose of the trip was Jane picking her Aunts raspberries. Raspberry jam is the best!

Of course you can see by the following pictures the kids had a ball at Grandma & Grandpa's house! Scott totally missed out and didn't even enjoy the quiet house due to church stuff every night!

Grandpa took the kids on the motorcycles.....even though Miles looks ticked off he had a great time!

Grandpa made them a rope swing!!!

Savannah, Lilly and Grandma were dancing in the kitchen.

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for making it such a fun week!!
And thanks to Aunt Debbie for the raspberries!!
