Shutting down for the winter

The garden got nipped by the cold last week so it was time to till it up.

Happy Columbus Day!!!

We took the kids out of school early today to go goof off!!

It was way fun and the kids had a blast. 1st we went to the Hogle Zoo......



We have never seen the animals more active!!! It was so cool.
I kept telling the kids, "This would be great if there was just a few less people!"
I think we saw 3 or 4 other families the whole time!
The cool temps and it being during school hours must have kept people away.
I do believe it will be a Columbus Day tradition!

Miles had an epiphany. He looked up at Scott and said "You know what they should have at the zoo, seals. They could put them in with the penguins...........wait they eat penguins."
We all just started laughing.

So if that was not enough fun for one day...... We went to a movie!


Really cute show! The kids loved it and Jane and I enjoyed it also.
Then we finished Columbus day with a traditional Columbus dinner.....


Well... Columbus ate beans and rice didn't he??

Celebrity in our house!!!!

I can't decide if it was Napoleon Dynamite or Carrot Top.....Anybody know?

Savannah the protector of all princesses could save the world.....
(if only she could get her mask on straight!)

Curlers

Jane and the girls all did there hair in curlers.... how fun!!!! I even made Jane go outside with the curlers in her hair and we had two visitors from the ward .... she was so embarrased!!! This could have won the Before and after contest that Suzanne had.....

Jane said that curler manufacturers should be forced to label all curler packages.... "Use for girls 12 and under".

Big Shoes

Briggs found dad's shoes and tried them on. He thought he was sooo cool. Of course he couldn't move, which isnt all that bad for us.... he is getting into everything!!

The last 3 peaches

What a sad day. I mowed the lawn yesterday and as I went by the Peach tree I could smell the ripe peaches..... YUM!

Well there were only a dozen or so left on the tree. Today at lunch Jane and I picked the last of them. Harvest just doesnt last long enough!!

What a kid!
